Policies

Individuals and organizations may rent designated areas in MOCA Jacksonville’s facility for private functions with the following exceptions:
1. Political and social demonstrations;
2. Any type of fundraising events where revenues are generated for individuals, corporate, or nonprofit organizations.

Nonprofit organizations receive a 10 percent reduced rental rate.

A deposit equaling 25 percent of the estimated final invoice is required upon a signed contract with Café Nola. This ensures event date, staff, food, and beverage service. All deposits are credited towards the final bill. Deposits are nonrefundable. The balance of the rental fee is due one week (five business days) before the event.

The rental fee covers gallery security officers, general maintenance of the event space, and one-half hour of set-up and tear-down time over and above the four-hour rental. The fee does not include food or beverage, service charges, tax, labor charges, use of audio/visual equipment, parking, MOCA Jacksonville speakers, tenting, or any other miscellaneous charges incurred.

The Museum reserves the right to approve all special events to ensure the event is compatible with the mission and purpose of the institution.

A detailed event description and timeline must be presented two weeks before the event. Final attendance estimates must be received by the MOCA Jacksonville special events office no later than seven working days before the event.

The Museum reserves the right to change the dates and content of exhibitions.

Deliveries to MOCA Jacksonville must be coordinated through the Museum’s director of special events and/or the chef/manager of Café Nola as appropriate.

No food or drink is permitted in the galleries. Smoking is prohibited anywhere in the Museum facility.

No decorations or items may be affixed to any interior or exterior surface of the Museum. MOCA Jacksonville will not assume or accept responsibility for damage to or loss of any merchandise or articles left in the Museum before, during, or following the function.

All food and beverage for events must be provided by Café Nola. Food must be served in conjunction with beverage service. Donated food or beverage is not permitted.

With the exception of the fifth-floor classrooms, theater, and Café Nola (during non-operating hours), MOCA Jacksonville is not available for rental during public hours.
